Mukai is a 2D animator, motion designer, and multidisciplinary artist working in Brooklyn, NY. In 2025, she received her BFA in 2D Animation from Pratt Institute with a minor in Psychology. Her designs are inspired by the intersection of science and art, often implementing surreal world-building. Currently, Mukai is the Director of Motion Design and Social Media at the global nonprofit, The Yellow Tulip Project. She also works as a Motion Designer and Animator for The Court Tree Collective as well as a bench jeweler with N + A Studios. Mukai has collaborated with animation directors like Maya Edeleman, Signe Baumane, and Thomas Nguyen. Her senior capstone film, On Time Off Time, has been selected for 14 film festivals so far and will be released to the public in the Fall of 2026.
